ABOUT
Meet Dympna
Founder and Instructor of Power in Pilates.
From callanetics to a calling
MY STORY
In my early twenties I discovered callanetics (a low-impact exercise system that tones and reshapes the body through tiny, precise, and repetitive "micro-movements) which is how I found and fell in love with Mat Pilates. But life got busy, I stepped away, and over the next decade I gained 4 stone, which I really struggled to lose.
At 40, I completely changed my lifestyle. Via diet and hard work I lost that 4 stone and as part of that journey, I discovered Reformer Pilates, and never looked back. Training four times a week, my body, and my mind, transformed. I felt happy, healthy and strong.
At 45, perimenopause hit hard and I disengaged from life and my career in Talent. So I made a decision: I retrained. Four gruelling years and a stack of qualifications later, I left my old life behind and opened Power in Pilates.
I'm a principles-led instructor. I'll never over-complicate or hide behind jargon, I’ll explain everything as we go, so you’ll always understand what you're doing and why.
